Zone Diet Books

There are quite a few Zone Diet books on the market since the first one 'The Zone' was published in 1995. The Zone diet is not one of these fad diets that appear out of nowhere and just as quickly disappear again.

1995 - The Zone: A Dietary Road Map

This is Dr. Sears's first book on the Zone diet. It presents this effective weight-loss program based on a simple, nonrestrictive diet that maintains a favorable ratio of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates and stabilizes hormones that regulate weight and health.

1997 - Mastering the Zone 

In his second book the approach is more praxis oriented. You will find plenty of tips and zone diet recipes. Dr. Sears advocates the substitution of raw vegetables for pastas, breads and especially refined sugars. The book 'Mastering the Zone' contains a lot more diagrams and flowcharts than his first book, 'The Zone.'

2000 - The Soy Zone 

The Zode diet for vegetarians: Dr. Sears also advocates soy protein as part of his Zone eating program. He cites as example why soy protein is goo "The longest-living people in the world" living in Okinawa, Japan. They consume much greater amounts of soy protein and eat smaller meals than most other people.

2002 - The Omega Rx Zone

In his book 'Omega Rx Zone: The Miracle of the New High-Dose Fish Oil' Dr. Sears discusses "high-dose fish oil;" a newly introduced invented pharmaceutical-grade fish oil, apparently much more potent that other Omega 3 oils, that will put the eicasonoids in balance and reduce inflammation. Extra virgin olive oil is also promoted for its phytochemicals.

2005 - The Anti-Inflammation Zone

The full title of this book is 'The Anti-Inflammation Zone: Reversing the Silent Epidemic That's Destroying Our Health'. Dr. Sears explains what sub-clinical levels of inflammation in joints, tissues, and blood vessels can do to our health. Inflammation is the number one cause of most diseases and much of the pain of old age - both of which can be prenvented py paying attention to how eating patterns influence the ebb and flow of hormones in the body.

2008 - Toxic Fat: When Good Fat Turns Bad
